Walk-in centre and minor injury unit
Sheffield NHS Walk-In Centre is based at the City GP Health Centre on Broad Lane and is open 8am and 10pm daily. You can attend this centre for treatment of minor illnesses, emergency contraception, sexual health and contraception advice and advice on health issues.
Sheffield Minor Injuries Unit at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Glossop Road, treats adults with injuries such as sprains, cuts and grazes.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
We make every effort to make the surgery accessible for disabled patients. There is access through the main door and we have a wheelchair available for use in surgery.
We have an induction loop on both floors of The Porter Brook Medical Centre and at the Hallam Medical Centre.
There is ramp access at all sites and levels.
BSL translation service is available.
Hearing difficulties
If you are experiencing hearing difficulties when being called in to see the doctor or nurse, please do let us know in order for us to set up an alert on your medical records and personally collect you from the waiting room. Alternatively, we do have the facility of a portable induction loop. If you would like to use this, please ask at reception for assistance.
There is patient parking at the front of the Porter Brook site – there are three spaces, two of which are disabled. On street payable parking is available.
Hallam Medical Centre site is city centre based and has good public transport links.
